Cameras

A Canon EOS 350D with an 18-55 mm zoom lens is available for taking pictures to document lab experiments. This camera saves data to a 2 GB Compact Flash Card.

Camcorders

Two Sony HDR-XR500 HD camcorders are available for use during lab experiments. These camcorders feature GPS tags and can save data to an internal hard drive or a Memory Stick Pro Duo. The battery lifetime for these camcorders is about 2 hours, so power should be run for most test setups. Wired remote control of recording is available for these camcorders.

Two Sony HDR-CX560 HD camcorders are available for use during lab experiments. These camcorders feature GPS tags and can save data to an internal flash drive or SD Memory Card. The battery lifetime for these camcorders is about 2 hours, so power should be run for most test setups. Wired remote control of recording is available for these camcorders.

Nine GoPro HD Hero cameras are available for a variety of uses. These HD camcorders were purchased for use on the shake tables, with 4 of them being modified for remote triggering. Their variety of mounts, rugged case, and wide (107 degree) viewing angle make them ideal for tight spaces or close to a sample. These cameras save data to an SD card, and have a 2 hour battery life that is extended by the auto power off feature, when not recording.

Mounts and Tripods

We have 4 professional, 2 high quality, and several other assorted tripods for mounting camera and camcorders. We also have several clamp mounts for mounting lighter cameras to wall beams, etc.
